PAID VACATION

Benefit Summary

Maintaining a healthy work/life balance is crucial to both leading a happy life, and performing well within the workplace. For this reason, PetWow takes seriously the need which team members have to get some R & R, spend time with friends and family, or simply "recharge the batteries"! Accordingly, we offer a substantial allotment of annual paid vacation which team members earn throughout the work year. Not only is paid vacation available to full-time team members; even those working significant part-time hours are eligible for paid vacation. Team members begin accruing paid vacation from the moment they join the team. The amount of paid vacation which each team member earns during the course of each year is determined by the team member's role, their prior industry experience before joining the team, their average hours worked per week, and the number of years they have worked at PetWow.

Eligibility

  • Basic Eligibility:

    • A Team member must have at least "Part-Time/Partial-Benefits" employment status, which means having averaged 48 hrs per bi-weekly pay period (24hrs/week) over the last 6 bi-weekly pay periods, or hold a managerial, professional groomer, or veterinarian job title. Calculated hours include regular hours, overtime hours, paid vacation hours, paid holiday hours, paid sick day hours, and paid continuing education hours.​

Team members can find their current paid vacation accrual setting, remaining paid vacation balances, and historical paid vacation usage under their "Time-Off" tab within their "MY INFO" section of BambooHR.

Team members can also find the monthly and annual Paid Vacation benefit which they can expect to earn in the years ahead (again, based upon their role, incoming experience, average hours worked per week, and length of employment) within their "Time-Off benefits" folder in their "FILES" section of BambooHR.

Enrollment

Team members are automatically assigned an annual paid-vacation accrual track when they are first hired at PetWow, and they begin accruing paid vacation time immediately. The paid-vacation track which they are initially placed upon is based upon their role, incoming industry experience, and anticipated hours worked per week - a discussion which takes place as part of the initial job offer. Going forward, the amount of paid vacation which is earned annually increases each year on the anniversary of each team member's hire date - up to some upper limit achieved after a certain number of  years working at PetWow.
