PAID CE DAYS

Benefit Summary

PetWow recognizes that veterinarians must complete pursue education not only to meet state and federal licensing requirements, but also to keep abreast of new ideas, techniques, and products which may improve the level of care which veterinarians are able to offer pet owners.  Accordingly, we provide Paid CE Days which veterinarians earn throughout the work year. Veterinarians begin accruing paid CE from the moment they join the team. The amount of paid CE which each veterinarian earns during the course of each year is determined by his or her average hours worked per week.

 

  • Two-Year Usage Allowance: In addition, since we understand that CE requirements typically function on a two-year basis and that veterinarians often wish to achieve all of their two-year CE requirements by attending a single CE event, we allow veterinarians to utilize up to two-years worth of Paid CE in a given year, whether this means utilizing more CE time than has actually yet been accrued for a two year period (i.e we allow "unearned" CE time usage); or else carrying over CE time from one year to the next in order to facilitate a larger time block in which to attend a CE event.

Eligibility

  • Basic Eligibility:

    • A Team member must be a veterinarian to be eligible for Paid CE Days. 

Eligible team members can find their current paid CE accrual setting, remaining paid CE balances, and historical paid CE usage under their "Time-Off" tab within their "MY INFO" section of BambooHR.

Eligible team members can also find the monthly and annual Paid CE benefit which they can expect to earn based upon their role and average hours worked per week within their "Time-Off benefits" folder in their "FILES" section of BambooHR.

Enrollment

Eligible team members are automatically assigned an annual paid-CE accrual track when they are first hired at PetWow, and they begin accruing paid CE time immediately. The paid-CE track which they are initially placed upon is based upon their anticipated hours worked per week - a discussion which takes place as part of the initial job offer.
